I like new and interesting guns, but I don't mess with Taurus semi-autos anymore. Plus I don't think the frame being slightly curved would make that big of a difference. Seems super gimmicky.
Looks like it's a Marlin Model 80 (https://www.google.com/search?q=Sears+and+Roebuck+Model+42+.22). Stock looks like it's hard to find. All sold out here: http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/Search.aspx?catid=0&filter=724800A
Thanks guys for all your input. I'm on my phone, so responding to each post is not gonna happen.
I'll definitely look into the LCR. I'm thinking my test fire list is LCR, SW 36 & 37, 642, and maybe a Taurus or Charter just for comparison.
Bootgun, I carry my 19 now. Two fingers were fine on...
My friend bootgun had a Taurus that was blue with pearl grips. A little fancy for me, but it was a cool gun. I can't remember if he let me shoot it or not.
Wow, thank you for the rundown, guys. Very informative.
B. Byrd, I kinda figured about the S&W being the standard. Might just stick with that for my first. As far as the alloy frames go, is the finish similar to stainless (as far as durability)? Or is it like a nickel finish that might...
Hey fellas,
My interest in snubnose revolvers has been piqued lately, and I'd love to hear your opinions on which brands/models you love, features you hate, good values, etc.
Personally I'd probably lean toward something with a high grip like a SW 36, but that's just my first impression...
I bought an EAA Witness P Compact from Gunbroker when I was 22. Had it sent to Forsyth County Pawn. Got rid of it after I realized DA/SA wasn't for me.
Funny you would suggest that: http://www.theoutdoorstrader.com/showthread.php?t=37894&p=206582&viewfull=1#post206582
Thanks, and yes he did a great job.
Thanks everyone for the compliments. I like it. :)
Yeah I want them to poop their huggies when I draw it. I was actually tempted to do that bronze color to be a smartass, but yeah I went with serious. :)
What's up fellas. I got this 19 in a trade a few weeks ago and the previous owner had polished the barrel and had it duracoated olive. The job was super-professional and nice, but not really my style. So, I sent it to Ott Gun Works, and they did a fantastic job. Had the slide, barrel, and...
Wow, good job! Especially for your first time.
After you got it heated, how'd you get rid of the hump? Did it collapse into the cavity or did you fill it?
I think it's fine to customize a gun and make it fit you perfectly. It's your gun and your choice! And of course it won't sell quickly, but not everyone is a trade-o-holic.
I had a 24/7 OSS .45 and I wanted to love it so bad, but the thing wouldn't feed normal FMJ. Wouldn't get through 2 mags without a jam. And not just a little jam. It would get stuck so tight that the slide would budge and you would have to pry the round out. Not good for morale, that's for sure.
Their prices are excellent, even ignoring the $50 lower sale. Lower parts kits for $50 and build kits for $100 is outstanding. Cool to see what happens when companies price things reasonably.
I'm no expert, but as far as the ones you find in pawn shop crates go, hex receivers are usually favored, since there are just less of them. People also usually like Tula a little better, too, but the parts are all mixed up in those refurbs you see in the crates anyway. I think it mostly comes...
