I’m sure most would agree- spend $50 on rings and go 30mm for light transmission. I’m an old fart and shoot a max of 500 yds, short for some guys here, and I need/like a max of 20x or so for hunting on my 300 WHBY’s and RUMS- but that’s just me. Take a look at Vortex, you can catch them on...
223 loaded with 64gr Barnes is light in recoil and drops them within 30 yds.
I moved my little girl into a Ruger American 308 youth- loaded the 120ttsx made for the 300 BO into a 308 case running 2254 fps- it’s also light in recoil and drops em quick. She liked the reduced 308 better than the...

I’m color blind and can’t hardly follow a blood trail. Give me a 300 Win Mag, 300 Weatherby Mag or a 300 Ultra Mag with 165-168 Barnes. Those have never failed me. Even the 338 Win Mag with 200 gr SP’s do the trick.
Either I don't know how to hold a SAA or you don't know how to *&$%!
Just kidding...it's a very nice pistol. I have the New Vaquero in 45LC/45ACP and some loaded some tier 2 loads at 22K-23K and absolutely love it. Also have a USFA Lightning in 45LC but I haven't shot it.
