  1. My first Colt

I just traded into my first Colt handgun. Its a SS Combat Commander series 80. Has a ding or two but overall its in great shape. No box or docs, dammit! Anybody out there that can give me a ballpark figure on its value. I see what they go for on the auction sites, but want an honest opinion. Thanks
  2. Crescent Firearms double question

Not being a shotgun guy, allow me to ask a dumb question. I know what a Damascus barrel is, but is it obvious to the eye?
  3. Crescent Firearms double question

Hey, I have a Crescent Firearms 12 gauge "Peerless" model double barrel that I would like to trade away or sell. But I won't trade a gun that's not safe to shoot. Do any of you have an opinion as to whether this gun can be shot or not? Wood, reciever, and barrels are all in great condition...
  4. 2 Ithica shotguns

Can someone please explain the difference between an Ithica 16 gauge double barrel with a Fluse barrel, and the same gun that is NID? I know NID stands for "New Ithica Design", but I need to sell both and don't know how to describe or price them. Thanks, Keith The longer barreled gun has...

  6. Reference Library

Are any of you guys interested in a very large collection of reference books and publications on guns? My brother in-law had a very big library of books (many signed by the Author first editions) that my sister is looking to sell. I will be getting a list of titles, and pics probably tomorrow...
  7. AR 15 to build or to buy

Thanks guys. The Lego story was a little exageration. But unless the build would be drop in parts I think a buy would be the way to go. Now what about caliber. My shoulder pops out about once a week. So I'm thinking 223. But I'm told that's a whimp. But if I cant shoot it, what good is it.
  8. AR 15 to build or to buy

The title asks the question. Take all things into consideration. Price, quality, difficulty. 1 or 2 factors to consider. My Grandkids won't let me touch their Legos because I break them. I've never shot, let alone owned or built one. So give a complete novice some advice, and ballpark prices on...
  9. Taurus pt92 af question

Yup, no decocker. Up safe, down fire. I'm old, but I know how a decocker lever works.
  10. Taurus pt92 af question

As much as I hate to argue with you, my pt 92 af is a frame mounted safety, no decocker.
  11. Taurus pt92 af question

I'm with you on preferring the old model. Thanks for your input.
  12. Taurus pt92 af question

For you Taurus lovers out there, I have a question. On the older model, without the decocking lever, if I wanted to carry it with a loaded chamber and hammer down, for a double action first shot, should I lower the hammer all the way down, or let it rest on the first notch? I prefer a double...
  13. New "Favorite gun".

Definately doesn't feel cheap. Its a double stack (10 shots) so it may feel chunky to some, although it fits in the same holster as a p11 or pf99. Fit and finish is good, and doesn't rattle like a pf9 does, when you shake it. Its not a Glock, or Sig, but for us "less fortunateits a good deal.
  14. New "Favorite gun".

I have a new Favorite gun. Don't laugh now, its a 2nd generation SCCY 9mm. After the horror stories I've read about the original SKKY cpx1, and the shady practices of the company, I avoided the cpx2 like the plague. But I took one in on trade last week, and I love it. Much nicer than the Keltec...
  15. Question about Baby Browning

Does anyone know if there is a belt buckle holster produced for the Baby Browning .25 acp pistol? I have a Fraser RB Industries copy, can't seem to sell it, so I thought I would at least have some fun and make it interesting. Thanks
  16. whats up with the price of Bersas?

The real downside is that at $225.00 the Bersa was a serviceable gun that someone who otherwise couldn't afford personal protection, could pick up. There aren't many other options out there.
  17. whats up with the price of Bersas?

Folks don't seem to understand that the thing that made the Bersa pistols attractive was not the superior workmanship or groundbreaking design (they are/were nothing more than a PPK knockoff) it was their everymans price.
  18. whats up with the price of Bersas?

Hold the presses! The price has jumped to $350.00 for a well worn weapon. That settles it, I'm going to go out and fill my gas tank, and get me another Bersa. Both seem to be going up faster every day.
  19. $150.00 Home Defense?

This is my current wall hanger, started out a rusty barrel and dinged up and scratched wood.had the barrel cut to 18 12" and had thr stock cut to legal limit. Stil have to break out the high temp brake paint, then its ready to go.
  20. AMT 380 Backup

So, next question, what is a good price for one in like new condition?
