    I would stick with a 5.56. Yes .308 is a bit stronger but if you get a 5.56 you can always shoot 5.56 or .223. Any AR labeled .223 will only shoot .223 and not 5.56. As chevy said, 308s are bit costly but given the 5.56 with the two round options... 5.56 is my preferred choice.
