people riding around with 1000 rounds worries me way more than anything i ever expect to ride up on in the real world. who really thinks they'll ever end up in a situation where they need that? y'all must live in atlanta or something. out here a 6 shooter and shotugun with maybe a 2nd helping...
there was a gun shop in phenix city that sold a ton of reloaded ammo and a few years ago there were manufacturers selling reloads on line. i had several hundred rounds of .223 v max that i ended up with after a prairie dog hunt ten years ago that had been reloaded. i'll see if i still have any...
I've got a lot of hand loads that came with a rifle i bought a couple of years ago. They are packaged and labeled with all the info on them. I don't want to list them and have someone injure themselves but I don't need them. Also have some brass and maybe some factory ammo. Now that I think...
i've got big hands and i've thought about that but i'm not sure that will stop the trigger guard from pushing against my middle finger. but, my mind keeps going back to the fact that if i sell it for 400 i'm not going to be able to replace it with anything that does fit for that kind of money...
i know but the grips feel too small and at the same time the trigger guard kind of crowds my hand for some reason. i've had a few colt troopers over the years and they are a better fit but the smith's i've owned have always had better triggers and smoother actions.
even a year ago 300 was about the going rate. i want to say i saw some in february or march at a gun show still going for that price. i would think they're bringing more now with the cover tax i've rarely seen them come up on here. tons of model 10's but not may 64's for some reason.
it's not pretty engraving but it's not all that deep. you could probably get rid of it or at least clean it up with a polishing die. in the end the answer is yes but it bugs me when i see what people will pay for a rusty gun without engraving vs a stainless gun with some numbers on it.
that's about the range i was thinking which is crazy considering what i see people asking for model 10's in what i would say are in fair to good condition. the gun shoots nice but k frames just don't fit my hand for some reason.
i've got a smith and wesson 64-5 trade i'm thinking about posting. what does the engraving do to the value? i'm guessing it kills it for a collector but for somebody looking for a k frame shooter does it really make a difference?
back during the great .22LR shortage it seems like i remember barrows doing something like that with. pm me the location of the american whitetail. every 7-08 i've had did fine with it and i'm out right now.
if you aren't spending a lot of time at a range or running really hot loads you won't burn the barrel up anytime soon on most any rifle. even then, what a long range paper puncher considers worn out is still probably close to moa
6.5 for the heavier bullets and the extra 1/2 millimeter diameter. everybody loves to hate it and even though the .243 has been around longer at this point it offers less options. personally, i'd pick 7mm-08 or .308 over both of them.
