Best Concealed Carry option/holster when Backpacking??
I am planning a 2 week AT hike this spring thru GA and NC. Plan to conceal carry my G29 or my sp101.
Problem is - 40lb backpack/straps totally nullifies hip carry, MOB, etc.
--> What's best option?/holster style? to carry for comfort on...
I've had 3 LCR 357mags. Can consistently make head shots at 30+yds from off my back porch on my swinging metal silhouette target made by ODT member safebuilder - np with smooth trigger. No brag, just fact. Don't find recoil a problem at all with 2 hand grip.
Disappears in your pocket...
OK. I finally got around to calling Glock in Smyrna.
The Technical guy said Glock does "not recommend" shooting .40s&w in a G29. Too many internal parts are different. Glock does not offer conversion parts/kit.
I know it can be done based on input above, but apparently not recommended.
ps-...
It definitely makes the G29 more versatile to be able to run .40S&W thru it, if can be done safely?? with no damage to the gun??
Seems similar to carrying 357mag in your revolver, but occasionally shooting 38's out of same gun at the range.
Any other 10mm/Glock/armorer guys care to weigh in??
Thanks for the video! I'm totally confused now.
Guess there's no need for new barrel or parts for occasional cycling of .40 S&W loads thru my G29, as long as I keep gun clean.
ps- Thanks also for tip on GA arms. I forget about them - prob best solution for now.
Availability of 10mm ammo in the future is reason I am considering parts so gun will shoot .40S&W. Underwood ammo, my usual source, is currently out of all 10mm.
Thanks for the links. This will cover barrel.
Do you think other parts are needed (lighter recoil spring, for one)?.
Also, do you...
re. Glock Gen4 G29 - convert to shoot .40 S&W?
Hey Guys,
Just planning ahead.
I love shooting my G29 10mm, but would like to have ability to convert my G29 to shoot .40 S&W, ala a G27.
--> What parts/mods are needed??
ps- I posted this question a year ago, and a couple of...
Glock G29 10mm - use 10rd mag for conceal carry, 10 or 15rd mag for woods.
Underwood or Buffalo Bore 220g hardcast is best ammo choice for hogs (and bears).
.357mag 6-7 shot revolver is next choice. Decent for ccw, and hogs w/hardcast ammo.
Have carried .44snubbie - too fat and heavy. .44mag...
thanks. just to be clear, i have a gen4 g23.
- for 357sig conversion, can use either gen3 or gen4 barrels for all conversion to 357sig?? (40 and 357sig mags of course are the same).
- for 9mm conversion, only need gen3 or gen4 g19 barrel and mags?
Correct?
thx
thx,
