    This^^ I've owned lots of guns (and other toys) that were bought as "impulse buys". They happened to catch my eye when I had cash in my pocket, so I bought them. Some I shoot, most I don't...especially rifles.

    Personally, I think it would make an ideal home defense weapon. Put a small optic on the upper rail (like a Jpoint or RMR that can function as a ghost ring when/if the battery dies) and a quality weapon light on the lower rail, and you have the makings of an awesome bedside gun.

    You can pick up an H&R Survivor in .308 for a pretty reasonable price from Academy. Stock and forend are hollow to store extra ammo, fishing kit, matches, compass, etc.

    Take these things off your pistols before you take pictures.

    I traded into a 1911 that was sporting a pair of those nasty Hogue finger grips. When I took them off to mount a proper set of wood grips, I found that a sizeable area of the checkering on the front strap had been worn flat from rubbing on something. Live and learn.

    I agree. I had an opportunity to handle a Shield a few weeks ago and it really didn't impress me. I carry a M&P9c all day, every day and the slightly thinner (but longer) grip of the Shield just isn't worth the decreased capacity...and don't even get me started on the external safety. :rolleyes:

    You have his mailing address, so it should be fairly easy to figure out which county he's in. Contact his local PD or county Sheriff's office and explain the situation. See if there's anything they can do to help. The po-po knocking on his door will accomplish a lot more than any threatening...

    IIRC, the 605 has a longer cylinder than the 85. It may fit in a soft holster for an 85, but I don't think it would fit in a boned leather holster.

    Federal 115gr FMJ was a hair under $10 for a 50rd box ($.20/rd) at Walmart before the panic. I doubt it'll be that low again, but I think $12 a box ($.25/rd) is reasonable for quality ammo.

    The only empty brass that's borderline useless is the rimfire stuff. Everything else has value to a reloader somewhere.

    I had a P239 SAS for a while, but I just never warmed up to it. It was way too large to have such a limited mag capacity and the grip felt weird in my hand. It was narrow and long, kind of like a CZ52. I like Sigs, and wouldn't mind owning a 229 or 226, but I highly doubt I'll ever own another...

    Gun oil or grease?

    I also use Lucas gun oil along with a tiny bit of USGI rifle grease. I bought a gross of those little 2cc cups back in the late 90's, and I still have a couple dozen left. A little bit goes a long way.

    I've had that happen numerous times in the past year. I just send them PM letting them know that I have other interested parties, and if I don't hear back from them by XX o'clock, I'm going to sell it to the next in line. Most of the time they won't respond.

    I think I'd feel better about that one than the majority of guns for sale out there. At least you have proof that it works. ;)
