For years I have used traditional gun oils for lubrication, mainly Militec-1 and old Hoppes oil, some rem oil.

The past year or so I have pretty much completely swapped to gun grease. I like it a LOT better, it doesn't run out of your gun, it doesn't dissipate on hot summer days and it is still there on the rails after a full day of shooting 500+ rounds.

One I have started using is a machine grease we use on 4-wheeler bearings since this grease is completely waterproof it helps even more. I love this stuff. And on some systems like ARs I use white lithium grease with great results.

What do you use? And why if you are totally for or against one.

I have been using light oil for firing pins/other parts that don't move very far and Hoppe's gun grease for slides and semi-auto bolts. I want to try Frog Lube... the local guys had it, then sold out pretty fast- about the time it showed up on the ODT. I blame all of you. ;)

I guess I'm going to have to order from their website.
