    Dirty chamber maybe. Put some 0000 steel wool on a cleaning rod, oil it then spin it in the chamber. It will just polish the chamber, not cut any of it

    Have you used a good chamber brush? Had a 7x57 lock my bolt up, dirty chamber. Used a cleaning for and oily 0000 steel wool, has not happened since.

    I agree, I found a 1903 springfield once and the stock was dinged up. I steamed the stock to pull out most of the dings, then rubbed it with 0000 steel wool and left that baby ALONE

    Its their weapon and they can do as they please. What kills me is they "bubba" them up, add more to the price, then wonder why no one wants them. Thing is, when they do "bubba" them, they are trying to sell it to someone who thinks just as they.

    I use rig as well, I have my Dads rem. mod 48 sportsman, and have been taking care of it for 60 years dad hunted when he wanted to, misting rain or spitting snow and it was my job to strip the gun, dry it out, and always use rig, and there is no rust of that gun any where. I use it on ALL my guns
