    I personally don't own one, but the guys I know that do, love them. CMP sold their last M1s some years ago, but they ever get any back in, they will sell out almost instantly. There is definitely a fan base for them.

    If you reload, you can make the recoil even less and still be able to take deer.

    I remember in the 90s there were only two grades, service and rack (I think). You could pick up a Garand or a 03 for $325. Those were the days!

    These are great guns. My dad built a couple deer rifles for family out of these. I think Remington even chambered the 700 Classic in a 6.5 some years back.
