Right in the middle of conservation. Need some acraglas to do one or two stock repairs. Nearly finished with the metal. Converted the rust.. just need to finish carding then reassemble. Reloading is a whole other novel
Started rolling my own. Graf had brass for a decent price (40 ish cents per round). Loaded with 220 grain Hornady round nose which was 36 cents per round. I'm around 85 cents/round for the first reloads...
Signed for my 1903 today. RIA mfg 1919 with a minty 1928 Springfield barrel. Stock is solid but a little beat up. World wars will do that to you... I’ll post a pic later with all the rifles that accept 1905 pattern bayonets.
Yea I don’t disagree. It’s a 220 grain projectile. I’d have to Chrony it but it’s probably traveling around 1800 FPS with my mild loads. I’m sure it’ll be much closer at 100 yds.
Again, I’d have to chrony the trapdoor and slug the bore to find out what’s going on. I may have too slow of a load...
I was eventually planning on a US percussion and eventually an original
Flintlock to round out my US service rifle collection. All good info. I’ll need to save a little more... story of my life!
