Check follower arm, follower rod, and slide/follower. Preferably replace with parts from a known working rifle and test. Also, is the receiver an early serial number? If so, look up, "7th round failure to feed."
Also, are you reusing clips? Any particular one causing the failure?

Seriously though, the only way it's worth close to 1k is unfired in its original commemorative crate from Springfield. Otherwise literally $5-600. Any more than that and you'll have to work hard to break even selling it. The market is very limited as most collectors (me included) wouldn't touch...
Basically the highpoint of Garands..... Lol
Zero collectors value. Basically only worth the price of the GI parts it contains.....

I'll be at the MG shoot. Want to shoot the M2! Bringing a couple of ar's and an AK. All with bump triggers that I've not had a chance to try.
