Garand is most certainly on my list of wants for an eventual rifle. But I want a shooter not a looker. Something that maybe is already shot up because if its not I may shoot it up anyway.
I would be all over that 1911.. but I'm a 1911 guy and don't care for carbines.. Now if it were a Garand that would be another story..
But I really cant own a nice piece of history like that because I would shoot it.. a lot. I cant own a gun I don't enjoy, and I describe enjoyment as ringing...

I second whats already been said.. copious amounts of cosmoline, then wrap them with something cause that **** is nasty. Worked for Nagants for years of storage in a warehouse, and when a new batch is imported covered in cosmoline in their crates they are still shinny like new once its all...
M91/30 is my bolt rifle of choice.. Their cheap, ammo is cheap, they make your shoulder hurt when you fire 100 rounds through one in an afternoon.. what more could you want?
