  1. Post up your reviews - Favorite BBQ restaurant?

If you're around Hiawassee or Clarksville, try Hawg Wild BBQ and Catfish. Never tried the catfish, but the bbq is good. I've been to the Clarksville location several time for lunch. I have clients around that area, and I try to eat there when I'm up. They bring you a basket of hushpuppies...
  2. Post up your reviews - Favorite BBQ restaurant?

Pretty sure it is the same ownership. I eat at the Canton location at least once a month. Love the chopped pork plate with fries and stew. If you're willing to get away from the bbq (hard for me lol), try the ribeye cooked on the pit or the catfish. Both are really good.
  3. Post up your reviews - Favorite BBQ restaurant?

I went to Big'Uns for lunch. Had the Big'un sausage plate with fries and stew, my usual. Finished eating and realized I forgot to take pic. You'll have to imagine how good it looked lol. Hoping to make it to Blairsville next week and hit up Jim's Smoking Q. I'll try to take a pic. Glad I have...
  4. Post up your reviews - Favorite BBQ restaurant?

If you're in the Canton area, hit up Four 41 South BBQ. Newer place, but they're doing it right. I've had the ribs, pork, and brisket, all really good. One of my favorites for brisket was the Wicked Pig in Clayton (NE Ga). He had the best I've ever had. He had a killer Alabama white sauce, I...

Agree with you on both. Back in the day PP was my grandma's favorite, and it was very good. But that was 20 plus years ago.
  6. Post up your reviews - Favorite BBQ restaurant?

Big'Uns is one of my favorites. If I'm meeting with a client anywhere near Talking Rock I'll stop and eat. Their smoked sausage is really good. Carroll's is another favorite. The wife's family lives in Blue Ridge, and we eat there at least once a month. The ribs and brisket... Jim's is really...
  7. Easiest two ingredient homemade pizza dough.

What size are those, @Comanche? One per person? Going to try it soon.
  8. Big D's bbq (dawsomville)....never again

Hadn't been there in years, so I tried it at lunch today. Not impressed. Pulled pork was barely warm, no real smoke flavor. Slaw was blah, tasted bland. Crinkle cut fries were good though- lol. Employees spent too much time griping and gossiping near the dining room, not cool.
  9. Sick of Salmon - Trout ideas?

This is pretty much the same thing I do. We would go camping and catch trout, clean them, and cook them just like this on the campfire (wrapped tight in foil). Doesn't take long, and like you said the meat just falls off the bone. Easy and ridiculously good.
  10. This jerky marinade turned out great....

I had trouble getting the sriracha flavor to come through. To get more flavor, i brush a little straight on the jerky when it's halfway done. You can definitely taste it!
  11. This jerky marinade turned out great....

I'm about to mix it up, but I'll let it marinade until tonight, then load it in the dehydrator. I'm headed to a little get together in Ohio this weekend, hopefully I'll have some left to take with me...maybe not!
  12. This jerky marinade turned out great....

I'll try that one next week, thanks for sharing. The sriracha sounds like a nice addition.
