I always cook to much bacon but is always eaten mostly one by one during the day, if any left the next morn it go's in my grits/cornbread ... !
Sounds like a base on having one helleva cook-out ............ open invite to the boy's who without gilt will drink all your alcohol -n-eat all your high-priced Ribeye and leave without even taking out the trash ...... !
Had me at Butter beans ........ ! now sweet cornbread hard pass ........... 12" skillet of fresh cornbread I can dang near eat it all by myself ........... !
Soak it in salt water and your preferred seasoning for at least 30 min -1 hour and put on grill in husks. cook evenly all sides till husks are dry, corn will steam cook on the inside. THATS how we roll!
