    Interesting that the 1st 6 were Irish whisky or scotch. I used to be into them but they got priced out of my budget. I like rye but much prefer bourbon. Had a taste test at my house last night. 15 different bourbons. Blantons won the race.

    No taters in Brunswick stew.......EVER! 3 kinds of meat, tomatoes, corn (white tender shoepeg) and onions. Very thick too. No chunks of anything. Chunks and/or potatoes are blasphemous to the original Brunswick stew makers.

    I've been trying to duplicate this stew for years. I used to work in Dunwoody village in college with an Old Hickory House across the street. I had their Brunswick stew and two grilled cheese sandwiches many, many times!!

    I make a big batch about twice a year. Venison, quail, pheasant, pork and yes.......squirrel! No potatoes and it is not chunky. Like mine ground up.

    I've never had Okra I didn't like. Slimed, de-slimed, over cooked fried, under cooked fried, steamed, etc. I love the hot pickled Okra that you get at the store to put in a vodka martini. :thumb:

    I don't use Dale's anymore even though it is darn good. Has MSG. I use Moores which is just as good without the msg.
