  1. USAA sucks and they can go **** themselves

The locksmith trade has been ruined by the internet... now "local" searches get so many referral services, it's impossible to find a reliable tradesman. This problem extends far beyond locksmiths of course. You'll be asked for your zip code (even though you dialed a local number), and you'll...
  2. After the last gunshow in Columbus GA this weekend....

I'm gonna do the old guy thing for a minute, even though I'm not THAT old... way back in the long long ago, around 1990, gun shows were AWESOME. The Gwinnett one that happened at the "Macro" building (a long shuttered store), on Oakbrook Parkway took up the WHOLE BUILDING. Not half of the...
  3. I want to buy it now, where and when can we meet?

    Uh, yeah, we do.
  4. I want to buy it now, where and when can we meet?

It happens with tenants too. "I will meet you right now with cash and sign the lease.". Uh huh. I might want to check with your current landlord first...
  5. This site has gone to hell

Ah, the best concert movie ever.
  6. Regarding the $950 - 9mm ammo.....

I'll save you some money. All you really want are the metal broadheads, and the bamboo skewer darts. The "stun darts" are worthless, and hit very different point of aim than the others. The plastic broadheads aren't sharp. You can sharpen the metal-tipped ones. I forget what else they sell...
  7. Regarding the $950 - 9mm ammo.....

Dang, Palmettomoon-- I might be able to get the top-end NF. I was just after the NXS class! But it's gonna be like the O'Henry story... I'll have the scope, but no ammo. : )
  8. Regarding the $950 - 9mm ammo.....

Blowguns are fun! And amazingly easy to shoot well. The Cold Steel ones are the way to go; not those crappy .38 caliber Jivaro ones you used to see for sale.
  9. Regarding the $950 - 9mm ammo.....

What are primers worth? Will five bricks get me a NightForce yet?
  10. New members who don't like to PM

It was appropriate, under the circumstances. : )
  11. New members who don't like to PM

It's not you-- it's them. They're scared of cars and motorcycles too. Can't change tires, don't know how to figure out anything that's not in Google, etc. Life is going to eat them alive.
  12. New members who don't like to PM

I even told one "the words you seem to be grasping for are "I'll take it"". Never heard from that one again. I've had the same. Like the 19 year old (according to his profile) who made offers, publicly, on every .380 for sale on the trader. With his phone number on some of them. In his...
  13. What's with the newbie lowballers?

I've had two more show "interest"... crickets after I said I'll need to see your permit and DL, or "what time would you like to meet"? I don't know if these folks are new to the internet, or behavioral norms for buying second hand goods are very different with other hobbies.
  14. Huge uptick in sketchy new member activity

I was getting lowball offers that seemed in an awful hurry-- from accounts less than a week old, no posts, no history. Newly-minted illegal gun dealers, looking for supply? Anyone in a hurry to buy a used gun concerns me.
  15. What's with the newbie lowballers?

Of course we were all new at one time. And I said the first time (as usual), "I'll take it". Done. I really may raise my price $100 so I can get what it's worth after negotiation.
  16. What's with the newbie lowballers?

I've had three in the last week. No feedback, account days old, wanting to lowball. Are the gun stores that crowded really?
  17. NOT interchangeable

I would of been a grammar teacher, but its to hard.
  18. NOT interchangeable

Don't loose you're mind their buddy. Aw, somebody beat me to it.
  19. Handgun caliber arguments are dumb

Yeah, yet another data point. .38 and up; caliber matters little.
