The 4043 is a double stack gun. The 11 round mags are clearly double stack, I have several for my 4006. I do not think S&W ever made a full size 40 caliber in single stack. There are some early model 3rd gens in compact 40 that are single stack. They did however make the 3906 in 9mm single... -
