  1. ARA benchrest

Geaux, where are you shooting ON A WEEKNIGHT? There are zero matches around Austin during the week, and it's killing me. I've shot five matches in the last two months, but they were all in Gwinnett or Hall county. I've become very familiar with flying with guns. Maybe we need to move down...
  2. 3 Gun Shotgun Recommendations

The Stoeger one set up for 3-gun is also ready to go out of the box. (I bought the earlier version, and $300 later it was ready to run.) MOA Precision will trick it out to your heart's desire. They even moved the charging knob to the other side of the receiver, as I am left-handed. But the...
  3. 3 Gun Shotgun Recommendations

The Benellis work great, but are pricey. You just need a shotgun that will hold 9+1; I think that's the maximum load-out usually. Something you can shoot fast, and with good enough sights to put slugs on steel at 50 yards. I can do that with a normal dot at the end of the barrel, when the...
  4. 3 Gun Shotgun Recommendations

Get someone to show you how to clean one before you get an 1100. : ) One time was enough for me. I bought a Stoeger, and put the 1100 next to the back door. Anyway, all kidding around aside, the inertia ones are easier to keep clean, than the gas ones like the 1100. But Stoeger's made in...
  5. Match Cancellations?

My bowling pin crowd is all on .22s now. Last time I shot with them, some were still running centerfire, but as soon as they'd miss (and thus blown their good time for the round), they'd stop shooting to conserve ammo. They've gotten good with the .22s... I hear that the winner ran a 5-pin...
  6. Wanting to get into “laid back” competition shooting

Cherokee "Tactical Rifle" match. Obviously it's timed, otherwise it's not a competition, it's practice. But super laid back. No serious memorization, and everyone is super friendly and helpful. Feb 24th. You don't need a shotgun-- sometimes there are zero shotgun stages. If there are...
  7. Wanting to get into “laid back” competition shooting

Don't know where you are shooting pins... come to Norcross every other Monday or Bullseye Lawrenceville any Thursday. Don't spread misinformation from your ignorance of all the other places that shoot "pins" or equivalent.
  8. Anyone Shoot RBGC 3 Gun?

Yeah if you like standing around nine hours for five minutes of fun, while participating in a shotgun speed loadng contest. Plus playing the lottery to even get a spot. It's not the range's fault, that's just sanctioned three gun. I tired quickly of it. Gotta trya 2 gun match. I have not...
  9. Cherokee Tactical Rifle Match is tomorrow

FWIW. Always a good time. Gainesville, sign in at noon, generally done by 3:30. Cherokee Gun Club.
  10. Skip J 2 gun match in Anderson SC 7/21/18

Hmmm... I'll have to try this one out. Can't do August though, but September, I expect I'll be there.
  11. Another great "Tactical Rifle" match at Cherokee Gun Club, Gainesville GA

Kinda hot, but a good day and a big crowd. This is "3-gun light"-- predominantly rifle, defined round count, friendly, and a whole lot of fun. It's not a shotgun speed-loading contest, and accuracy counts so sloppy and fast won't cut it. "Thanks!" to the tireless folks that set this up every...
  12. Tactical Rifle/two gun matches in North Georgia?

Their website certificate is revoked, and otherwise they are only on fakebook. Too bad; I was interested.
  13. Tactical Rifle/two gun matches in North Georgia?

Will check to see if there's something new at srgc. The usual match is the one I complain about. I hear the outlaw match at rbgc is good.
  14. Tactical Rifle/two gun matches in North Georgia?

I kinda gave up on three gun, cuz it's just a shotgun speed loading contest. Accuracy irrelevant around here. The Cherokee March is good though, and I always go if it's not raining. That one rewards accuracy and the kuduman is usually near the top.
  15. "Pin shoot" at Bullseye Lawrenceville every Thursday at Seven

It's yet to be cancelled. Come one, come all!
  16. "Pin shoot" at Bullseye Lawrenceville every Thursday at Seven

No, it's still on. Thursday nights. I won't be there for the next two, but will be back after Christmas. We do need more folks. Hanging on by a thread.

We really need more folks-- if we can't get ten... the match will be cancelled. Please come join us! Thursday at 7, $12... more fun than you can shake a stick at.
