    Shellac will give it a much more protective finish. It will also give it a more natural wet look. I'm anxious to see your bow tie work. That's pretty meticulous work but pays nice looking dividends.

    Looking good! :thumb: Tung oil would make that oak pop, but definitely need a protective coat (poly, lacquer, etc.). on the top at least. What paneling technique did you use on the top?
