That’s not taking into account the auto brightness. If the shake awake turns it on full brightness that’s a HUGE hit to the battery life.
Example:
Aimpoint Micro series-
8/12 setting 5.7yrs
10/12 setting 10 months
From Holosun:
Battery life is 10000 hours (dot+circle) or 50000 hours (dot)at...
Tin foil hat time:
What if china wants us all to have holosun so they can kill switch them if they invade?
Not saying that’s the case but not saying it isn’t possible.
Wouldn’t it be in this case:
“less parts to fail would be best”
Shake awake is controlled my a microprocessor and circuits, which is always consuming power. So again, while it’s sitting there waiting to be shaken it’s consuming battery via parasitic drain…….
Aimpoint is a battery, a rheostat...
How come everyone talks about the merits of “shake awake” but then they say “it’s for my car/truck gun”
Well, rocket scientists, what do you suppose is happening when you are driving or even rucking for that matter?
It’s shake awaking the whole time killing the battery you wanted to keep from...
I’d start with a zero for your most used ammo and then develop a DOPE card for the other ones.
Are you going to shoot suppressed? If so then make your zero for the subs and compensate for the others. They will have similar POA/POI with the grains you listed, but like I said, the one you’ll...
I’ve been carrying an RMR pistol for 3 years. I’ve never had the emitter or glass get obstructed by anything with the exception of shooting with a suppressor. If you are using the optic correctly you can cover the front of the lense with duct tape and it is still 100% useable. Research “bindon...
I still stand behind this statement also.
I want to reiterate to you I’m not offended or steamy in any way. I actually did enjoy the conversation and don’t think negatively of you. I know the constant back and forth can amount to frustration and spite.
All too often a thread on ODT is...
This guy has no prior military or LEO experience. He must not know how to handle a firearm in any capacity. It’s a shame, they have revoke all of his accomplishments now I guess.
He’s even an irons only kind of guy for pistols.
I have made exactly 0 claims/hints/suggestions of background, credentials, valor or otherwise. So I’m not sure what you’ve decided in your mind for me.
You made it about me when you started speaking directly to me in accusation.
I’ll leave you with my previous offer of if I have anything you don’t, you are welcome to use it.
There’s different tools for different jobs, and some tools cannot work for some jobs. If you can’t acknowledge that...
Well well well.
Point of facts that you blatantly missed, if you are any of the things you say you are you would know the difference between a gen 1 and a currently issued generation tube system just by a photo. You show obvious lack of knowledge on how NV devices focus as well.
1. I have...
It’s there, except the latency. Once they figure out how to fix that, game on!
People don’t realize that current NVG is analog tech and that’s why there’s no latency issues. It’s basically a CRT TV stuffed into a handheld tube, for lack of more scientific explanation.
Would be the exact same. NV isn’t like the movies/games, they (most newer) will automatically turn down when lighting conditions turn bright, they won’t just get bright and “blind” you.
They have an inherent flaw with focus though. So if they are set to infinity everything past about 4ft is...
