Red dots on pistols

If I may ask, What is your background? Please be honest so I understand the context of where your coming from when you speak.

Respectfully

Background is not relevant, the context is clear.

When shooting under NO LIGHT and utilizing NV the RDS does replace irons.

The photos provide all the context you need.

Does that still hold true if your lit up with a flashlight before getting a shot off?I admit I know very little about NV...serious question though

I would assume you wouldnt turn yours on if your running NV...but that may be a wrong assumption...so yea the target pointing a light at you.
Would be the exact same. NV isn’t like the movies/games, they (most newer) will automatically turn down when lighting conditions turn bright, they won’t just get bright and “blind” you.

They have an inherent flaw with focus though. So if they are set to infinity everything past about 4ft is clear and up close is blurry as seen on the pics. There are flip cap style devices to mitigate that but they do so by blocking incoming light so then you combat scintillating (static) in the image.

The same is true in reverse. If they are set to see everything up close, everything will be blurry past a short distance.

Think Human eye sight polarities.

Thanks for the insight....NV is a little out of reach at the moment....possibly at some pt. though....something I need to become a student of....before a purchase,so as to maximize their advantages and mitigate their shortcomings....if any

Wanna talk about a no poors game. NV is no joke at this point. Having a budget and NV don't mix.

It will be a beautiful day when digital NV is a viable option.
It’s there, except the latency. Once they figure out how to fix that, game on!

People don’t realize that current NVG is analog tech and that’s why there’s no latency issues. It’s basically a CRT TV stuffed into a handheld tube, for lack of more scientific explanation.
