Ive only had one issue with an 80v trimmer. They replaced the part, but it did take some back and forth. All of their other 80v stuff has been quite good.
Take a weed wackier and cut it up a little bit. Then take some weed killer and spray it. English ivy has a waxy coating. You need to cut into it so the weed killer can be absorbed. Also cut it all off the base of the tree.
