Where’s the fun in a narrow escape if no one hears about it. And I m not so deeply steeped in paranoia that I’m worried about telling the story on one of several thousand Internet forums.
At Thanksgiving, the family went on a trip. We drove and I threw a couple extra pistols in my backpack that I use for work - computer, chargers, cables etc.. I threw in some extra magazines in a side pouch that I never use. I guess I forgot about them.
Right after the holiday, I flew from...
I've been watching them. Quite a few have gone for money I'd probably consider. But I've never sold on GB and don't take credit cards, so I'd be fishing in the smaller buyers pool.
I may miss an opportunity by not selling now since I think the price will come down sharply when they import the...
works for me. your stuff, your terms. you have your reasons. I think others just feel moral outrage at the Current prices, so they want to see a 100 Item for 500 rounds of 9mm. which is not what it cost, generally speaking, today.
people who "demand" or expect that it's what it should be -...
fair enough to ask for that. basically convert the ammo to cash and thats your price. but "expecting" that someone should trade you for 9mm at .20 per round value today does not seem like realistic expectations.
maybe that's ok as both are based on the same time frame. but trading a gun worth 500 today, for ammo at pricing from a year ago - where does that logic work?
I won't condemn anyone for not being prepared (without knowing more about their circumstance). some might not have had the cash, or they did have some, and just want more so they can shoot more often. they could have been prepared for home defense or emergencies but not for shooting matches or...
fair enough - never discount the possibility of human error.
thank you, by the way, for the extra research and detailed explanations. It helped give me some perspective.
I'm not buying or selling, but I have seen ads where someone wants to trade a firearm for ammo, but specifies that the ammo be "pre-covid" prices.
I feel like saying "sure, we'll meet at a time machine and go back to when ammo cost less".
I don't condone or approve of new costs for ammo, but...
Also why I'm saying someone with experience can sell for me and take a cut - I would be a first time seller and not a trusted source. Might make me look fishy.
I'm going to watch it. but if doesn't bid up to 5K minimum, I bet the guy doesn't sell it. I don't know that he would follow through if he was going to lose money.
I wasn't sure if that was allowed. crazy high prices or crazy low just don't make that much sense to me, unless its on ODT.
that would make sense. some individual put down their deposit a year ago, just got the gun and tries to sell it either because of the opportunity or they changed their mind about paying so much, but they are not an established seller and don't have the track record or ability to take credit.
