Wondering if anyone has any real life feedback on the Ascend 12T or 128X w/ Yak power that Cabelas/BP sells? I have a 10' Perception Pescador currently but looking for something with a little more room.
*No interest in any other brands/models at this time.
He’s 17. He just bought a kayak and has been hitting local ponds and lakes. If the trout bug hits again I may hit you up. He had a ball so in the end it was worth it.
Ended up going to a pay trout pond so my son could catch a few. After he put 6 in the bucket we paid the $90 damn dollars and left. I don't care if I never see another Trout. Or Cherokee NC.
Going to Cherokee NC this weekend and am told I need to go trout fishing. I have no interest in a fly fishing rig. Can I use a spinning reel and rooster tails or beetle spin or something similar? Really don't want to dump a lot into a trout fishing setup as this is the first time I've gone ever...
Think "Chicago South"
I live a few miles from there. My son just took an interest in trout fishing and Stamp Creek was going to be our spot to hit. Guess we can go back to running shine and making meth now.
I tried to find the article I read about them but couldn't. This popped up and kind of cool.

Prob can't see it now due to water conditions, but in the summer you can see an old indian stone fish weir right there. I read an article on it years ago. (Just south of the bridge and to the left of the sandbar). It seems like more people catch fish a little further south at the Hwy 5 bridge...
I'm looking to add a fish finder to my electric only reservoir boat soon. Just looking for something to help pinpoint fish in local lakes an ponds. GPS is not that big of a deal and not a requirement. Anyone have any experience with these? Other recommendations in the same price range?
