Several years back an old friend of mine guided fishing at that lake and others. Pretty sure he no longer does but he may know someone if your interested.
expect quiet, really nice quiet. i haven't fished it in 40 years but nice crappy and bass back then. World record bass roadside sign used to be on the road down from the park.
I used Big Time Charters years back, enjoyed the trip and caught some fish. Looked at their website, seems like the Captain was the first mate back then.
We've had this one through two engines, three outdrives one waterspout, two hurricanes numerous storms and a whole lot of fun and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. May you have as many memories with yours!
Thanks, "joyflnzz" and that's not the same pic I had for an avatar when I posted the thread. Same wife, she was fishing in her bikini in the previous one!
OK, drove over to the lake today. If I thought it was bad last month.......damn it is bad today. A lot of ramps are closed including Highland Marinas. One guy told me that his trailer fell in a hole at the end of the ramp at Yellowjacket. When you can't put a bass boat in it's pretty bad!
It's bad, depthfinder said 3 foot of water at the dock. That's about what the boat draws with the outdrive down. We anchored in the edge of the channel since the cove we typically use was pretty much just a mud bog.
Went to West Point for a couple of days, This is the first time that I've put in that my boat went out past the dock putting in at Highland! Creamed both props on something and will be having to get them touched up!
Are all the other lakes getting this low or did any get enough rain to keep...
Always down there. Got beat up a bit offshore this time so we just fished the bay.Problem with staying out that long is you have to let them go or eat them quick. Since the boat has a stove and a grill...............
Thanks Mike, we had a great time.
This video is about as good as it will get, We were fishing at West Point lake last year when I took this video.
