    Never have eaten a pickerel, but northern pike are EXCELLENT fried up over a campfire. Used to keep 'em for shore lunch when I fished up in Canada. Just have to fillet out the y-bones.

    As already stated, Jack, or chain pikerel. Actually in most waters in Georgia. Used to catch 'em south of Macon on the Ocmulgee.

    So, do any of you fish specifically for yellow perch? I've caught two at lake Juliette at different times. They're a pretty fish, and I read that they're pretty tasty. I'd like to get enough for a fish fry come spring. Any pointers or advice? Lures, jigs, colors, times of year, etc? Thanks.
