Couple hours on Ft Yargo today with no numbness or pain. No fish, either. :censored:
To be honest, it was really just an excuse to try out the seat and the cart I slapped together last night.
Actually, I do follow the rules...for the most part. If I break the rules, I fully expect to suffer the consequences of my actions.
It's called being an adult.
Just in case there's anyone following this...
I wound up selling one of our Pescadors and replacing it with a more "recreational" kayak for river use and casual family excursions.
Then I set out to address the seat on the remaining Pescador.
My wife has a Perception Tribute 10.0 that has a...
They're not especially intelligent creatures, but in a catch/release pond they'll eventually figure out not to eat during certain times of day and/or to not eat certain things. If you have a "go-to" lure you always use, you may need to learn a couple new techniques.
I have a pond down the...
I'm planning on selling one of our Pescadors in the spring, so maybe I'll just replace it with a more recreational sit-in for river use. Maybe something along the lines of a Perception Sound 10.5 that can pull double-duty as a fishing kayak as well. We have a Sound 9.5 that seems to handle the...
While this kayak's primary purpose is fishing, we do a bit of recreational river paddling as well, and a higher seating position is usually less than ideal for moving water. I suppose I could pick up a dedicated recreational kayak, but we already have four kayaks and a canoe in the basement. :D
It's the seat bottom that's the issue for me, so the Manta Ray may not be quite what I'm looking for. My butt was sore and left leg was going numb while fishing yesterday.
Have any of you guys used the Kingfisher, Manta Ray, or Gone Fishin seats? The stock seat on my 2018 Pescador is just terrible.
I'd also be open to other suggestions ($150 or less), but I'm not interested in building or adapting a lawn chair or stadium seat.
It's not just fishing. It's all outdoor activities. Camping gear is in short supply, quality kayaks sell as soon as they hit the stores,, couldn't find a decent PFD anywhere for my boy, hiking trails and corresponding parking areas are crowded, etc.
Hell, I had to locate a specialty badminton...
I'm kind of in the same boat. I've sold off at least a dozen rods and reels in the past year alone, not to mention several hundred dollars' worth of lures. Much of my gear is just sitting down in the shop collecting dust due to school and family obligations. I used to go fishing a few times a...
Now, the Avid is in a whole different world compared to the Premier/Mojo/Triumph, and is well worth the money over them if you're determined to stick with St. Croix. I've owned a few of them, and they're nice rods. I sold all of mine, though...and replaced them with five BPS Carbonlites and a...
You may want to check with St. Croix about that. ;) The Triumph, Mojo, and Premier are all built on their SCII blanks. The main differences between them are in the guides and the finish on the blank.

Actually, the only Fuji component on the Premier is the reel seat, just the like the Triumph. The guides are from Batson.
The biggest difference between the two is in the warranty. The Triumph (and all of their Mexican-made rods, iirc) carry a 5 yr warranty while the US-built rods come with a...
If you don't want to shell out the cash for the Premier, look for a Triumph. It's the same blank as the Premier, but it's built in Mexico using slightly cheaper components. They usually run in the $70 range compared to the Premiers that tend to run $100+.
