I know a couple of kids that are playing both rec and travel ball this year. It looks to me like the travel has more restrictions on the pitching than rec. Those kids get worked like a rented mule in rec because they are just about the only ones who can get it over the plate.
He/We love it! He plays other sports, but not with the same enthusiasm as baseball. I will never push it on him, but I will support and enable him to go as far with it as he wants. (or I can afford, whichever comes first lol). It was his choice to stop playing Rec ball and go full travel...
Just curious if I've run up on any 8u Travel Ball ODT daddys out there. My son was with the Ellaville Aces this past year. We played Valdosta, Dublin, Milidgville, Leesburg, Albany, WR, Macon, ect. For future buy/sell/trade reference. ...I will be coaching the Sumter Slam in Leesburg...
Thank you. If my math is correct, He went 24-1-3. That's pretty dang impressive for a bunch of 8yo. Says he's trying out for the Braves next year, lol.
Well...we're out. Went 1-2 to get fifth in State. Congratulations to Effingham County and Rincon who will play for first tomorrow morning. Now on to putting a Fall Ball team together.
The come back kids did it again tonight! Game got rained out last night in the bottom of the third, us down 11-5. Resumed tonight and pulled it out 14-11. One more game tomorrow and we sweep District!
What a day of baseball!!! Left home at 7 am and just got back at 12:00am. Won our first two district games 16-0 and 5-3. Then headed 40 miles south to catch up with our travel ball team for the last 2 of a 4 game sweep of that tournament. Way to go Sumter Co Allstars and South Ga Aces...
Well we took our first ass whooping Saturday. An Albany travel ball team put us back in check, 16-0, 13-3. Now that we have been humbled a bit, we prepare for district next Saturday in Cordele. Wish us luck.
Won our first AllStar game tonight, 16-15. What a slug fest! Little man went 3 for 3 with 2 of them to the left field fence and one to center. Fourth at bat he was intentionally walked. Now this is 7-8 yo league on a pitching machine...Guess little man is getting a reputation. First time...
