That would have been my suggestion - try some quality high-velocity ammunition. The CCI you're using is great stuff, but it's standard velocity. I'd try some faster stuff, or even stingers. And a good cleaning always helps. The lube that was applied at the factory may have become a but gummy...
It's got a nice, honest patina. Use it and don't worry. The money you spent on refinishing will ad *nothing* to the value. Any the color fill is not factory.
I'm thinking of switching up one of my ar uppers to drop some weight. Any good deals out there on lightweight barrels? 14.5" preferred, but 16 could work as well.

The same as first-owner guns - they stand behind them. I bought my GP100 used, and damaged the barrel. Sent it back to them and they fixed it. I only paid the postage.

Not really. Barrel profile doesn't, either. Bull barrels and sporters can both do better than most shooters.
The big difference is in the quality of the barrel itself, and most importantly, how it was chambered. Tighter chambers and more consistent barrels tend to shoot better.
There's a...
I've got one as well, you might be able to make it smoother, but but I doubt there's much that can be done about the weight without effecting reliability. It's basic physics - you need a certain amount of energy to set off the primer, and you don't have much space for extra leverage.
My suggestion? Wait three months. Prices and availability should both be much better.
FYI, my ar has both a 1:9 barrel and lacks chrome lining. I'm so uncool...
I wouldn't do anything. It's acquired some honest patina. IMHO you'll spend more money trying to 'fix' the problem than you'll get in increased resale value.
Looks great.
What would be the charge if you didn't coat the receiver? I've got a 10/22 I'm thinking of doing a SBR with, and I'd probably do the coating myself...
Lots of dovetails have been cut with a file. Take your time, measure lots, and it's doable. Not my preference, but for a cheap gun that you're practicing your skills on it would be a good start.
Looks good. Have you done the 'heggis flip' to improve the trigger?
I'm a big fan of the TacSol barrels - have one on my 10/22, a 4" one on my favorite buck mark, and a 5.5" barrel on the way.
