    I would see about getting an aftermarket extractor for it. Taurus in not known for their excellent customer service. Trust me, I went through hell to get a mod85 fixed.

    Did it just break or did you put a round in the chamber and then let the slide go forward?

    You might still have to. The key I have found is to let it soak over night and "lightly" work it with fine steel wool for a very short period of time. Wipe it off and repeat. The key is to just take off what the oil has broken down and to not force it into coming off.

    Have you tried soaking it with a gun oil and letting it sit? Usually that and some fine steel wool will do the trick.
