Sohler Firearms on Watson. I haven't had any work done, but he seems like a really nice guy. A veteran also. He said he works on rifles and handguns. Certified gunsmith also.
Could be a headspace issue. If chamber is too deep, the firing pin can't reach far enough. I had a 260 rem barrel from them that had same problem. Finally convinced them it was defective and they gave me a new barrel. Don't know if S&W are still doing warranty for them or not. Take the...
Every time I see a Bren discussed, it reminds me of the movie, I think was Lock Stock and 2 Smoking barrels. Guy comes out with Bren with the mag loading from top. Other guys ask him what is that likely with a few expletives. He said "it's me Bren gun". Always found that line funny.

One thing folks overlook is increasing the recoil spring may reduce how hard the slide slams into the frame, but it also increases how hard the slide shuts and puts a beaten on the take down pin and other parts that stop that forward motion. That is why certain cartridges come with...
Your rear sight may be wrong. Seems like they are different ones for different cartridges. Is your front base sight welded on? Or screwed on? The ones I have that are welded (all older 10" barrels), are permanent, there is no replacing the sight. The pinned ones have a screw on base which...
Really, I didn't know there were kits out there. Been wanting to do several guns and it seemed too much trouble to setup and buy the chemicals. Google, here I come.

Not sure about the profile of the barrel, but that same gun and likely most of the chamber to the end of the pivot point on the barrel is the same for a 12gauge. If it is the same as the 12 to that point, I don't think reaming to 3" is going to be a problem.
However, the cost of a reamer...

I didn't think about Byron, they have a huge selection of screws and isn't too far away. May make a field trip down there on one of the scooters in the beautiful weather just to peruse. :)
Yeah, the OP's picture was 5 drawers, so now I have seen it. I noted the drawer model number and will be asking my store to ask the screw vendor about adding it.
Thanks,
