Cutting the factory ribbed barrel is easy and looks better than an aftermarket. I have cut two and they are bad-ass.

Just be patient... at the beginning of this month in the span of three days, I got a stock set off an Express and then a Remington barrel. I had my father's absolutely mint and 45ish year old Wingmaster that I just felt bad about since it was just sitting in the safe. For $120 it went from this:
