07 Dodge 5.9

My engine is taking a dump. Recent shortblock either was improperly built or the new torque convertor ballooned and ruined the thrust bearing so my crank has an inch of play.

Anyone know where to either find one or a reputable LOCAL shop/guy.

The best diesel shop I know of is in Montecllo.

1" of crankshaft play? The thrust bearing is only 1/8" thick, how is that much end play possible? Is it still running?

Last Friday coming come from work it finally threw a error code. I've ridden my bike all this week.

DTC codes I have now.....
PCM P0148 - FUEL DELIVERY ERROR
FCM P127A - STARTER CONTROL CIRCUIT 2 OVERCURRENT
FCM B1647
FCM B1648 - Right Turn Signal Circuit High
FCM U0184 - Radio???? IT still Jammin!

Buy a surplus school bus with a Cummins in it and swap the engine

The busses usually sell for under $2k at the auctions

Gwinnett county auctions em pretty regularly I think

You can see the end play in the crankshaft ?

And you mentioned recently rebuilt ?
Builder/ installer lookd at it ?
Denied warranty repair ?

Builder is a small time guy from New Mexico. I spoke with him yesterday and he "said" he's going to swing by next week and look at it while he's in town. He has too much good feedback for me to think it's him. I know the same thing happened to a buddy and they blamed the torque converter.

Originally I had my transmission replaced and asked for my injectors to be checked. Tranny guy said motor was bad....so got the engine ($5500 installed)....engine guy went through the old one and said he couldn't find anything wrong with it. I'm hoping he'll show up but honestly I'd be surprised if he does so I'm trying to get a resolution lined up in case he doesn't.
