10/10/16 Hunt

My first hunt in my new stand I hung on Saturday. Had a ton of deer, turkey, and bear activity on the trail cam. Went out today and sacked a decent sized black bear with my crossbow! Amazing hunt and will remember it forever.

Really a terrible job of field dressing the bear!What a waste!Did yu report the kill to DNR? State law and it looks to be a cub.That is a major violation!

Sorry for the poor photography. He was 278lb. Definitely not a cub. The photo was prior to field dressing. Guts fell out of the exit wound as we drug it back to the truck. Geez the internet trolls these days

How was the drag out? (Usually there's a heck of a story, lol.)

It ran about 40 yards down a hill and passed in a creek bed. Tried to haul out myself... definitely wasn't going to work. I'm feeling that today... I called some fellow club members to help me get him out. Contacted the game warden and dressed him before hauling off to the processer!
