So, i picked up a 10/22 in a trade this weekend and I'm trying to install some aftermarket parts.

Has anyone ever had a bolt not come out of the receiver? I have removed all the pens but the bolt is just a little bit too long to come out of the receiver

It'll come out. Turn the receiver right side up and take your finger and slide the bolt all the way to the back and it should drop out. Going back together it has to be pretty much parallel as there isn't a lot of wiggle room. Be positive the bolt stop pin is removed.

I pulled the rear pin. No buffer. Ive taken apart quite a few 10/22s and I've never had this problem. I was able to get it now with a small punch but im going to have to remove a small amount of metal.

Glad you got it removed. Remember before you start removing material, they got it in at the factory, they didn't build the reciever around it. I've had some tight ones but never one I needed to alter.

Right. I think it was that burr that broke off keeping it in. No problems now.

Side note. The KIDD guide rod and charging handle is amazing.
