10-26 Hunt

Wind is my enemy where I hunt. I hunt close to the lake, and the wind comes off the lake from my back or side a lot of the time. Getting wind in my face if a race occurrence, so I make sure to wear scent lock clothes and a lot of field spray trying to stay scent free. If you have a few extra minutes, an ozone generator like this one

ScentLok OZ100, Ozone Generator for Odor Removal​

does a great job of making you scent free. Just know it's bad for you when running, so close the door and let it work 10-15 minutes and then give it an extra 5 to dissipate.

Wind blew a good bit. Saw a scrawny doe, 2 spikes, and an 8 point that will be good in a coupla more years. Once the rain set in, didn't see anything.

LOTS of acorns on the ground.

I agree it is a double edged sword. I got pics of 2 shooters yesterday morning while I was sitting elsewhere.

I wouldn't want to know. If I'm not there, it doesn't matter

got very windy here at 10am, I walked back to the house for eggs & hash browns
saw 2 bucks, a tall tine 6 & 4pt, 1 doe

been seeing very tall tine bucks for 3 years now, they all are 6 pt and seem to stay 6 pt

here are 2 of them, a third was killed last year

Had one grunting out about 200yds. Never came in sight. Found another active rub on my smallll spot.

Judging by his body he appears to be a mature deer…

that's 2 different deer a 3rd one was shot last year, they all look very close to the same
it's like they never loose their antlers and when season starts they are looking the same as the previous 3 years
