Depends. If your new barrel has a gas block and tube, it's as simple as removing the handguard(s) and the barrel nut.

Sorry for high jacking but what if it doesn't? Is the gas block and tube as easy as assembling it or does it have to be "adjusted" for functioning? Or all gas tubes and block do one purpose, to block gas.

Gas blocks can be tricky....pipe cleaners are your friend to help line up the holes. But it's basically just positioning and tightening. Gas tubes are pretty much universal.
