10x16 Deck! Wow! Crazy!

Good job on the low rise, wide tread steps for us older folks.

Another project at Maw& Paw in-law!
Small deck 10 x 16
Material alone was $4000!
The stuff was so freaking heavy, soaking wet with saturation from being treated!!
Took 3 days to remove & rebuild!

Well, you know when you get older, you work slower and you’re older. Everything is heavier.. LOL

You ain't never picked up that kind of lumber. I bet I couldn't even do it now. Some of that stuff is like lead. I used to build decks

New one looks great ! Good job, i know you will enjoy that one for a good long time !!
Give it a couple of weeks to dry out and then treat it with some good sealant, like Thompsons or something …… it will last a good long time that way.

I don't like putting that stuff on myself. I used to just pressure wash it every few years. My last house, the deck still looked almost new. It was 36yrs old. It would've needed replacing in @ 5yrs I guess

Mother and father-in-law had all kinds of stuff stored on the deck, so the water just sat there on the deck, and it was poorly built to begin with

$25 per square foot?!?!!!
OMG. Recently bought a home that has a 3 sided wrap around deck. Half of it really should be replaced. Lawd hep me.

Finished floor space is @ $300 these days. Well that's lot and all unless you want to go crazy. And it's real easy to do

I get finished space since I just bought but untreated deck. Dang.
