10x16 Deck! Wow! Crazy!

We are wrapping up staining/sealing our 16x30 deck. We had it built last fall and just getting around to sealing it.

20 years ago, wife and I built a 20 by 40 deck on the back of our house. About 6 yrs ago after I retired decided the deck needed to go. Had a dumpster brought tothe house and after several days using a chainsaw and skill saw cut it up and through it in the dumpster. Now I had a descion to make, new deck or concrete slab. I knew that I would be near 80 by the time the new deck had to be replaced. So the concrete slab was picked. During the same time also had a 30 ft above ground pool with a 7 ft depth. The pool was also taken down and the hole filled

$25 per square foot?!?!!!
OMG. Recently bought a home that has a 3 sided wrap around deck. Half of it really should be replaced. Lawd hep me.
I feel your pain, my house has a roofed porch on three sides with a 12x16 deck on the back. After 40 years the covered porch is still in pretty good shape but the open deck has been rebuilt twice.

What lumber did you use. My best friend's parents growing up used cheap wood and had to rebuild it @ every 10yrs or so it seemed. Mine was pressure treated and was good for @ 40yrs
