On a brighter note, had this young buck walk up within 30 yards after that guy left. Needs another year or two before I'd shoot him though.

Back at it again for the afternoon. Warm out, but got a strong breeze that feels nice at least. Sitting in a different stand on another part of the property, so at least I shouldn't have to deal with someone walking up on me again, but kinda feel like my odds of seeing or shooting deer are significantly lower in this stand. Oh well, at least I'm in the woods, I suppose.

yep.. give me a nice doe or a spike to a forky and i am happy.. put down a pretty big spike last weekend.. today i saw a nice 4 point, he walked in turned right and split... my daughter was hunting a stand in the direction he headed.. i gave her a heads up, but the only thing she saw was hauling butt, and never slowed down.. maybe tomorrow morning...

Fairly certain some "PROFESSIONAL" type fella told me that a 6.5 needsmore kills 'em graveyard dead BEFORE you pull the trigger. Maybe it was at the GON show up in north Ga.. Pretty sure he was from New York.

Well, second weekend in a row where we didn't really see much at all in the afternoons. Very disappointing weekend for this time of year. We did at least manage to squeeze in some fishing mid-afternoon and I managed to catch a pretty fat 8+ pound bass, so at least the fishing was pretty good. I don't think the pics my buddy took really do it justice for how big it was, but I'll post them anyway.
