My Dad was there also with the Air Force. He was part of the crew (2LT, I think) that flew JFK's car into and back out of Dallas.

Pretty sure in school, second grade. They made a big deal about it. But I did see Oswald get shot on the TV live..I tore out yelling at my momma about it, she was hangin' clothes..lol
Darn I'm getting old... but remember it like yesterday. Back in lower New York days, carrying two golf bags, it was early after noon finishing up on the 18th hole of my second 18. (caddying was one of my two PT jobs as freshman in college, other was night time snack bar at drive-in movie). People running from the 'Pro Shop and caddy shack to tell us the news... Me and two friends took off a few days later and drove 6 hours to DC for the funeral procession, no extra money, slept in the car, did not know DC was a dry city, never thought to bring our own refreshments.
