11/24 deer hunt

Well, I have seen one deer today, but what a stud he was. Walked out of a clear cut about 350 yards away, and crossed my power line. He was slow walking through the broom straw. All I could see was his rack until he got to the other side. I wouldn't take that long of a shot, but it's good to know he is around. Of course, he crossed 50 yards below the stand that I was going to sit in, if it wasn't raining. They are big for a reason.

Only saw 4 small deer at first light from the stand this morning. Jumped a little 5 point and 7 does while seaching again for the buck I shot last night.

Gonna do some serious scouting / still hunting this afternoon behind the cabin property.
So far haven’t seen any deer from several hunts back there.
Lots of trails though.
Need to get some cameras out.

Just woke up a few minutes ago. Looks like a nice day out there right now to be in the woods. My tired eyes and body say that tomorrow evening looks a lot better.

My wife was put in a tight spot last night.... shoot the big 10 in the corn pile or not to shoot it.... it was dark and I was shining my light on it watching it eat... she took the moral high ground and passed it up, wanted to kill it the right way. What do yall say, should she have shot it? She lost a good bit of sleep over it last night lol. So I'm about to head out and hang a stand for her

I've done that before and never regretted not taking the shot. I would rather take a small 8 legally than poach a trophy. Hunting is more to me about being out in the woods than killing a deer.

Stand is hung and wife is in the stand. I'm on baby duty and still recovering from the flu. Hope she can get one of the big ones. Good luck to everyone going. I've heard a couple of shots the last hour so maybe they're moving.

About 7 this morning I saw a biggun... he hide from me as soon as put the scooe up...I swear he was a magician...he literally disappeared
