11/3 deer hunt

Very nice! :thumb:

A two day hunt and we could shoot two deer of either sex, without using a tag. I did not hesitate after not seeing anything that morning. It was warm, nasty, and the deer only had to move a couple feet in any direction for water. On top of that large plateau there were plenty of water too so I could not understand all the guys headed back to those bottoms in the afternoon, but hey, it worked out for me. There are much bigger bucks around, of course, but I did not walk away empty handed. I do wish my Dad would have shot one instead...I hunted again yesterday afternoon and did not see anything. I did run into a yellow jacket's nest and got the best free karate lesson I've ever had.

Awesome brother!!!!! Congrats and good luck to you and your dad, we need to to get up and do some hunting this year. I don't drink much whiskey anymore but I think it would be a heck of a time with a bottle of Wild turkey 101 around a campfire the night before a good hunt. Take care and be safe and may God bless you brother with a monster tomorrow.

Until our cabin is built we don't have a good place to stay, but I plan to use a tent until we're finished. We can always make a day of it if you're willing to get up very early (I've done this many times), or we can make camp with the tents and hunt a couple of days. There are some great bucks down there around my place. I have some good blinds and a ton of thickets. Sharing the place with friends and family is my favorite part about it, so PM me and let's get down there soon. I'm headed back to work tomorrow evening, then I'm off from the 13th-27th. Prime time for south GA. It's about 25 minutes SE of Columbus.

I bumped a black and a grey coyote on the way in. Too bad they were out of bow range. The weather is right and the wind is good. Tonight will be good I hope.
