I have been messing with 1911's for quite some time now but finally decided to build my own from a bare frame and slide. I did not go the 80% route because I don't have the tools for that so, I started with a PSA Stainless Steel, Bare Frame and Slide. The fit is real tight. Anyway, there was much I did not know about fitting parts and all the filing and sanding that had to be done but learned along the way. It's OK for my first build and it will only get better from here. I have about 3 weeks of patience and abut 40 hours of frustration in this baby.

Shoots well and performed flawlessly for it's first 100 rounds. I would call it a success. I would have come out cheaper just buying one in a store already done but, I had fun doing it and I did it the way I wanted to.

Picked this one up about a month ago and finally got a chance to shoot it a couple weeks ago. I now realize why the High Priced ones are that way.
