(I went up there to the three forks on the Wolf River in Pall Mall, TN where York was from. It is still as poor a part of the country as it was in his day. Not a place you could make a living, but if you're retired the land is cheap and really beautiful.

He's buried there in town in a very nice cemetery with a lit flag over his grave, right across from a whole bunch of McCoys, lol.

I saw Audie in Arlington, I remember he was surrounded by a bunch of good folks. He'd have liked being amongst so many of his own kind....)
