Damn! Too rich for my blood. I was gonna build a retro XM177 (sort of) style a while back because it looked cheaper than building a 9mm. Now that's all switched around. I have an old issue of The Shotgun News or whatever it's called now with an ad for old style carry handle uppers and XM177 kits. They even have a set of super short triangle hand guards.
But when you get right down to it before I d spend a lot of cash on a retro or 9mm build I'd spend that money on another AK with a fixed wood stock.
