I tried the apex. I liked the feel but the reset was slow. I'm not sure but i think I'm back to the apex kit with the stock return spring.

I used the apex kit on a 442 and was pleased with it.
Wilson kit is what I used in both of my 686s. 2.75 S/A and 7 D/A. Better kit than the Wolf as I have shot my freinds with them and he changed to Wilson's after sbooting mine.
You can adjust the mainspring screw to get 6.5# trigger; but you will get some light strikes. Just tighten it all the way up and no issues. Very repeatable numbers on both pulls. The Wilson mainspring has an offset top and works like a cam on a compound bow.
Works great on the larger frames. The J frame is non adjustable

Wolff kit. I may be weird, but I put Xtra power mainsprings in all my J Frames. It is a heavier trigger stroke, but I am used to it now and it feels good.
Be mindful......Tinkering with springs and pull weights may make the gun unreliable. Hard primers and different types of ammo will tell the tale as well.
