Can a Galil mag be made to work reliably in a Norinco 84s? I can get it to fit, but my Galil mag is one of the "blank rounds only" mags that will not work with non-blank ammo...

From what Ive seen they have to be modified. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Thats a tough spot!

yeah I've heard the same about modifying Galil mags, but like soviet said I've heard they're kinda hit or miss. Heard of people lightly modifying them to work in Saiga .223's..just FYI for any owners who drop in on this thread

Ok. I forgot that my brother has a number of galil mags...I'm going to have to try this out! It would save me tons of money...even getting the tapco galil mags and modifying them would be better than 50 bucks a mag for the norinco mags.

Its a pretty easy mod to get the orlites to fit a Saiga ak. I would think be a 84 would be the same. Not sure about steel mags. I never tried the steel mags in the saiga before I sold it.
