- The court made several recommendations on how the state could achieve that, including:
-- imposing waiting periods
-- requiring microstamping of guns
-- forbidding felons, the mentally ill or those convicted of domestic violence from owning firearms.
Leave it to NPR to try to add their own version of liberal spin to the ACTUAL decision as still in favor of the LCM....the court didn't "make several recommendations", the court clearly states that CA should have attempted less sever restrictions prior to enacting the ban. The court cited these examples as evidence of the states failure to uphold the 2nd Amendment for ALL CA citizens.

We disagree with the government’s position, and we affirm. California Penal Code section 32310 severely burdens the core of the constitutional right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms. The statute is a poor means to accomplish the state’s interests and cannot survive strict scrutiny. But even if we applied intermediate scrutiny, the law would still fail
